Will you design a custom theme or modify a theme that I provide for you when you setup my blog?

No, Ninja Blog Setup does not provide any blog design services. You can visit our Blog Resources Page, for a list of companies that will assist you with WordPress theme design.

I already have a wordpress.com account, could you still set up my blog?

Wordpress.com is separate from having WordPress installed using your own domain name and hosing account. Whether or not you have a WordPress.com account I can still setup a blog for you as long as you sign up for hosting through my links.

If I already have hosting or want to use a company that isn’t on your list, can I use your service? If so how much would it cost?

Yes. If you already have hosting the cost to Ninja Blog Setup install and configure WordPress for you will be $65.

You can view the full list of benefits of our service. Once you are ready to begin, send payment via PayPal using this link and then fill out the blog setup order form to initiate the blog installation process.

If you haven’t signed up for hosting but want to use a company that isn’t on our list, use our contact form and send me the name and website address of the company you want to use, often I can work out a deal with them and you can receive the blog setup for free.

Can you import or transfer my site from Blogger.com (Blogspot.com)?

Yes and moving from Blogger to WordPress is a very smart decision. However the move, especially if your blog is well established, can have some stumbling blocks and challenges.

Some of the issues with importing from Blogger are presented in this post.

Ninja Blog Setup can usually provide a free move for the basic posts, categories, comments and users, but setting up the sidebars for your theme, moving images, and setting up redirects (if your blogger.com blog is more established) are not services that we provide.

Does the LunarPages $25 off coupon (”25OffHosting”) work only on the 2 year payment plan?

No, it also provides a discount on the 1 year payment plan with LunarPages hosting services.

What happens to my account if I cancel and change hosting companies, but I have my domain name with the old company (1and1.com for example)?

It looks like you were using 1and1 for two separate things: One is hosting your website, and two is managing your domain names. If you cancel your account with them just cancel your hosting, but keep the domain registrations. That way you can still manage your DNS and renew your domain names but you won’t be paying for hosting.

Unlike with hosting there shouldn’t be any charge (other than the fee to register and renew your domain names) to keep your domain account open with 1and1. [note: this applies to any company where you have both your website hosting plan and your domain name registrations.

Can’t I just use Fantastico on Cpanel and install my own blog in about 30 seconds?

Actually installing WordPress with Fantastico or other one click installers is very simple. The problem is that what you get is the plainest, butt-ugly blog you’ve ever seen and it won’t include many of the cool tools and features that make WordPress so fantastic.

The real work that a ninja blog installer does is to set up and configure all the stuff (the 20+ high powered ultra cool plugins) that turn your blog from a boring Chevrolet of a blog, to a full featured Ferrari.

It would take most novice users many many hours to setup a blog properly, even if they did understand the optimal configuration for all of the tools.

How can you do this for free, what’s the catch?

I can install your blog for free, because when you sign up for hosting, the hosting company will pay me for referring them a new client.

It’s a win-win-win scenario. You get a professionally installed and configured blog, the hosting company gets a new client and a Ninja gets paid.

When I go to Dreamhost from your link, the only six dollar a month fee is if I sign up for 10 years. Is that the six dollar fee you speak of?

The cost if you pay for 1 year is about $120, and with my coupon it comes down to about $70, but it won’t show up until you fill out the first page and submit it. You’ll see the final price on the next page.

Do you provide any other blog setup service outside of the Ninja blog set up. For example - setting up a autoresponder so that people can be notified when there is a new post or blog design.

I only specialize in setting up blogs, but part of the setup is to link your RSS feed to Feedburner, which does allow someone to sign-up and have posts delivered via email.

If you visit my feedburner page:

    http://feeds.feedburner.com/NinjaBlogSetup

You can see all the options on the top right that people can use to receive notifications.

Every blog I setup has this as part of my package. But if you want a full featured autoresponder like Aweber then you’ll have to set that up on your own or visit my resource page to find a someone to help you out:

Can you tell me which WordPress version is installed on my site?

Ninja Blog Setup always installs the latest version of WordPress available at the time we do the installation. You can determine which version is presently installed in your blog by logging in to your Admin page (Dashboard) and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page. At the very bottom of the page, it will tell you something like this:

    Version 2.3.2.

Can you help me edit my theme? Examples: change header image, add my picture to the sidebar, change link colors, add AdSense or other code to my site.

We are sorry, but tweaking sites after they are setup is not part of our service. At Ninja Blog Services we believe the ability to make these type of minor changes to a blog’s look is an essential skill for every blogger.

To this end we have created a video called How To Edit Your WordPress Theme since we feel it is better to educate bloggers to learn these core skills…it’s not as difficult as it seems and once you learn yourself you’ll be free to allow your creativity to express itself on your blog!

Can you send me my WordPress password?

Ninja Blog Setup does not maintain a list of passwords for sites that we setup. But there are at least 5 ways for you to retrieve or reset your password:

1.) Search for the email that we sent to you when your blog was setup, it contains the user name and password for your site.

2.) When WordPress was installed, a summary of the installation was sent to the custom email address that we created for you. Login to that email account and find an email with the subject line of “New WordPress Blog,” it will contain your user name and password.

3.) Go to the login page for your site, below the login box is a link called “Lost your password?” which will allow you to reset your password. Use the custom email address that NinjaBlogSetup.com created for your site as the email address, and “admin” as you user name. Follow the instructions to reset your password…check your email after submitting.

4.) Last resort #1: Follow the instructions to use the Emergency Password Reset Script which will require FTP access to your site.

5.) Last resort #2: ***If you are not familiar with editing a database, I highly recommend hiring someone from the WP Pros list or other technical resource to perform the following steps***

Once we’ve created my blog through your service, how simple will it be for me to upload new content?

It is very simple for you to add new content to WordPress, although there is some learning to be able to master it, you should be able to get started without any trouble. Here’s a video that I send out once the blog is done to give you a tour.

What happens if I am considering more than 1 domain since some of the suggested hosting company can host more than 1 domain

Our service includes one free blog setup per hosting sign-up. If you want a second blog setup at the same time as the first, the charge is $30. Or if you want it done at a later date, the cost will be $50.

Personally, if you are new to blogging, I would recommend starting with one blog and learning the ropes and making it successful, before starting another one.

The hosting companies offer multiple domain because most people will eventually want more than one site, but in reality most of their clients probably only have one website/domain.
